The Paper Trunk is a brand new curated stationery store bringing you our favourite notebooks, tools, stickers and all things stationery.

We're a small team of Mum, Dad and Daughter taking on this new venture in 2026.

What started as Maisah's (Mum) own brand, Grumpy Nook®, has now expanded to become a curation of beautiful cosy-ness.

We'll be sharing a world of beautiful stationery that we can vouch for all day long. With shelves filled of our long time personal favourites + some new brands we have found along the way and have fallen deep for!

 

A little History
The Paper Trunk is a nod to Maisah's memory of her Abba's (father) love for stationery. Where he had trunks filled to the brim with textured stocks of paper that he couldn't just dispose of. Decades worth of family photos, and everything else that kept his analogue heart content - he had trunks for them all!

A guy who's go-to gift for loved ones were fountain pens. The man who was known to have a camera or two around his neck. And the Abba who created, captured and documented everyday with his family.

We want The Paper Trunk to be the destination to stationery that inspires travels, and creates a passage to documenting life's beauty - just like Abba / Baba (grandad) once did.

 

GRUMPY NOOK : OUR OWN BRAND
Founded in 2018 by Maisah, Grumpy Nook offers cosy paper goods, stickers, and scrapbooking essentials designed to inspire creativity and brighten your day.

The name Grumpy Nook is a playful mix of nostalgia and beginnings. “Grumpy” is a nod to the kind of characters Maisah loved growing up with - the ones with a bit of attitude and a lot of heart. And “Nook” comes from the cosy corner of her bedroom where the brand first took shape - surrounded by sketchbooks, art materials, and a growing love for all things paper.
